Dublin Hills and Tecopa Valley

 

 

Standing in the Tecopa Valley with the Dublin Hills in the center of the picture and to the left is the Ibex Hills. To the right is part of the Greenwater Range, which is underlain by Tertiary plutonic and volcanic rocks.  Shoshone is located at the foot of the Dublin Hills.

 

 

Dublin Hills Volcanics

 

 

Close-up of the Dublin Hills volcanics.  Large boulders of basalt with underlying pyroclastic rock composed of volcanic ash cemented or consolidated by overlying pressure (Tuffs).  In the distance is the Greenwater Range.
