Tuesday 03/03/2002 -  A late afternoon stop at Badwater.  The lowest point of elevation in the United States at 280 feet below sea level.  Underneath and behind the group is one of the largest salt pans on earth.  

Tuesday 03/05/2002 -During a stop to observe the sheared rock within a fault zone,  an opportunity to get another picture of the Death Valley salt pan is taken.  The boundaries of the Death Valley salt pan stretch from the Salt Creek Hills in the north to Ashford Mill in the south.

Wednesday 03/06/2002 -  From an observation point at Dante’s View,  Sunjung observes the Death Valley salt pan and Badwater below.  The alluvial fan (bottom right) has a height of 61m and is just under 914 m long.  Beyond the top left border of this picture is Telscope Peak.
