JOHN PAUL Puchakayala

John Paul Puchakayala
Research Scientist

I did my Masters in Exploration Geophysics from Centre for exploration Geophysics, Osmania University, John Paul PuchakayalaHyderabad, India in 1983 and while working as a research fellow in National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad I obtained my PhD in Marine Geophysics. I studied the relationship of gravity and bathymetry of various oceanic lithopsheric structures seamounts, midoceanic ridges, and fracture zones.

In 1992 I joined Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation, Bangalore. Here I used high precisison GPS to study the deformation in Garhwal/Kumaon Himalaya, Andaman Nicobar Islands and South Indian peninsula.

In 2003 I joined CERI, University of Memphis as a Post Doc. I am working on New Madrid GPS data and Post Seismic Deformation of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. I am now a research scientist handling NSF project an Andaman deformation and New Madrid deformation.

My collaborators include Roger Bilham, Vinod Gaur, Roland Burgmann, Tony Lowry, Robert Smalley, and Samir Acharya.
