Some additional questions for workshop discussion:

In order to provide students with the greatest flexibility (in terms of electives) we need to consider mechanisms to reduce the number of concentration cores, but NOTE that good advising is again important to make this work properly.

For example, we could require only three courses in each concentration (but which three?) or we could have either/or options? For example: under the Geology concentration, we could require structure or hydrology?

Another mechanism or example of how to reduce the number of core courses is to take out each of the field courses, but to make it a prerequisite in at least one of each of the core courses.
