7.5 Earthquake in Mexico

A strong earthquake occurred in southern Mexico today, September 30, 1999 at about 11:31 CDT (16:31 UTC). The preliminary magnitude is 7.5. Damage has been reported from Mexico City and it was felt as far as 140 miles west of Mexico City.
