As a Research Associate at CERI, Christy Chiu's current research
concentrates on a study of the seismotectonics of the southeastern
Reelfoot rift boundary in the Mississippi Embayment, and a study of
the 3-D tomographic inversion of crustal structure in the Mississippi
Embayment and the central U.S., using earthquake data collected by
regional seismic networks and the portable array for numerical data
acquisition (PANDA) She is also working on a project relocating
events
in the New Madrid seismic zone, funded by the U.S. Geological
Survey. Additionally, Chiu is an active member of the CERI Network
Response Team.
Chiu's publications and abstracts include submissions to the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Bulletin of the Seismological Society
of America, and the Eastern Section Seismological Society of America,
the Ceri Quarterly Seismological Bulletin, and Ceri Weekly
Earthquake Bulletin.
