TIC WG A, minutes from teleconference, May 26, 2004 Participants: Mitch Withers, Dave Oppenheimer, Egill Hauksson, Paul Whitmore, Won-young Kim, C.B. Crouse, John Heintz. Egill informed the group of a web-site that addresses performance standards for the Hudson River cleanup primarily (http://www.epa.gov/hudson/quality_life.htm). The standards are divided into several sections (e.g. lighting, noise, odor). Overview fact sheets are provided for each section and more detailed specifications are provided in the complete document. The structure of the document provides a nice model potentially applicable to ANSS. We don't what to avoid details but do need to organize the monstrous table into a more easily addressed form. This does not imply that matrix of Product x Time x Quality x Reliability isn't applicable. Major categories can be Seismicity, Ground Shaking, Engineering data, Rapid notification, data archiving, and data sharing. Some products may need to be cross-listed in more than one category. In order to make progress, we need to just go ahead and write draft sections and start passing them around among the WG for comment. The following people volunteered: Seismicity, Egill Hauksson Ground Shaking, Mitch Withers Engineering Data, Jon Heintz Rapid Notification, Paul Whitmore Data Archiving, Dave Oppenheimer Data Sharing, Mitch Withers Document could go from general to standards to discussion. Mitch will transform the table from last time into the above categories. Need to make sure that the standards don't become business rules. We don't necessarily need that level of detail. Next conference call same time (1pm EDT) on June 22.
