The top priority is always repair of down stations.

Shivers and Bollwerk went to NC on Sunday 11/17. There was a great deal of
damage in the area. MGNC on Mount Gibbs, NC remains inaccessible due to road
closures. On 11/18 they replaced the failed UPS at the HPNC node and added a
remote powercycle of the radios via iboot. They then went to TVNC2 where they
replaced a failed solar regulator and repaired faulty wiring in the batteries.
They went to LRVA on 11/19 and found many very large trees down on the "road"
which is just a path through the woods. It isn't passable by vehicle. The
found the tower at the station had been destroyed by a large tree toppled
presumably by wind and water logged ground. This station may have to be
relocated to a more accessible location.
Tech staff will have lunch with Patrick Shivers on his last day Friday Dec 6 at RPTrax.
The CERI Holiday Pot Luck organized by the students is Wednesday Dec 4.
The plan for filling the soon to be two open field tech positions is to reclass them to Res. Assoc II positions. We've been working toward this since June and thought this would be done "soon" for the past two months. Nevertheless, we think this should be done soon.
CERI leadership sent an email to P-plant leadership seeking advice on new HVAC for 218. No response yet.
need a new scanner. Minolta in the middle house will be the only supported printer. Will be convenient for tech staff to have one in 3904 to use but will be networked so it need to put it in a secure location to avoid excessive use. Possibly 2018 or the Hydra lab.
USGS wants to open the January ANSS monthly meeting to all network staff. Bill B provides an ANSS in Review and would like a single slide of highlights for each network. Mitch intends to update the ones used for Vadim's meeting in September. Needs to be done by Dec 15.
Working with Philip Crotwell on a new REQ. Mitch would like to download and test it at CERI but is relunctant to put it on vilos which has become quasi-production. Steve will spin up a new VM to put it on. Once the new AQMS is operational (and we have a replicated database) we can point it to that using the FDSN web service.
Discussion on using end of year funds (both seisnet and 2024DM).
BAT3 permanent install. Need to do the 3 on-deck NM upgrades then BAT3. Holly uses this station often. It's a very good station even with a temp install.
WADM is down and is on the to-be-closed lists. Close it in SIS. Likewise, LRVA isn't reasonably repairable in its current location. Close it in SIS.
We have an index and are ready to go. All spending must be completed by January 31, 2025.
Continued SLU adoptions O&M.
Upgrade three NM analog stations (cascadia PH w/Centaur from ASL). We selected these three stations: CACT, ARPT, STAM. Having trouble getting call backs from the landowner at STAM. Last we spoke with them it was going to move and a specific site needs to be identified.
New node routers
No power at SFTN and something went wrong with the inverter so the batteries didn't carry the load. Dave couldn't find anything wrong with the inverter and replaced the batteries. He suspects it may backfeed and drain the batteries. Power was restored on Nov 26.
The move to the new building at Luxora is on hold. Moved our equipment to a temporary location. Building has been drug from the slab foundation into the field and the foundation has a large crack through it. Looks like they'll need more than the a day for the new building.
RDST2 needs an IP change though James would like to have someone onsite or available for immediate departure when he makes the change in case something goes wrong and we lose contact.
The big liebert is in need of replacing. Does it need to be a liebert or is there a more cost effective way to cool that room. Is humidity control so important anymore?
We need hot-spare hardware for the nodes. James has a prototype and will test it at MKTA.
CVTN/CVMS. A contractor, A2H, was hired to design and build the new school. They're aware we're there and are willing to work with us to restore those stations when the time comes.
MPHB continues to hang; it's an old serial to inernet DM24 system. The sensor hasn't been calibrated in three decades and has been in the borehole for nearly two of them. It is not being archived at IRIS and there is no metadata (Mitch has the original Guralp documentation though it is likely no longer accurate). We discussed whether to turn it off. It doesn't cost anything though isn't useful either. It is a nice borehole in a very noisy location so also not particularly useful from a monitoring perspective. It can be obsolesced as time permits.
Both UALR pipe vaults were full of water. Will replace them with a CERI style surface vault.
The City of Cape Girardeau sold the building housing sm station CBMO. Mitch has been unable to get in touch with the real-estate agent. Dave discovered the buyer is a philanthropist possibly converting it to a museum. He'll periodically check on it when in the area to keep track of changes and establish a new agreement when the time comes.
The property owners at FVM are constructing a new tower. We're on a cell modem so don't really need the tower. They're moved out of the old building and are letting us stay there. Need to move the cell antenna from the tower to the building. Dave moved this antenna on his way back from Thanksgiving.

GMG and VHTN single-component problems are also long lived and need to be addressed. If disaster recovery and hardening funds become available they may be able to be upgraded to broadband. We only want to dig them up once.

The Dalton link is dead and we're currently using a cell modem. It works but it would be nice to get the Dalton link working again. Jim has made multiple attempts to contact them but they don't return calls.
