The top priority is always repair of down stations.

Philip Crotwell from South Carolina Network was visiting and joined the staff meeting. The primary purpose of the visit was to discuss AQMS processing and recenteqs web pages he may be able to help us with. He also had questions about cell modems and telemetry.
2023 DM request is submitted.
Fish Fry on May 5 was another success. Everyone was generous (average around $10/person) and we ended in the black by about $40.
We reviewed the safety inpsection report from last month. Mitch has a plan for items on and to in the High Priority set (3876 rooms 110 and 111). The third item is in reference to a closet. Dave will contact EH&S to discuss the remaining items.
Need to shut down primary aqms systems for 30 minutes for maintenance. Vacations and the no-change-Friday rule will push this to May 30.
AC in 388 is kaput. A pricey repair if done in the shop. Patrick got a part and Dave has a plan to replace the part without removing the entire dash.
CVTN is down for the current after the Covington Tornado destroyed the school. James will close the current equipment epoch but keep the station open to help avoid excessive downtime for the station. Nothing can happen until construction is well underway or complete at the school.
Discussed NM digital upgrade plan What to do about stations that need major work but are to be closed as part of the plan. Need to have a prioritized list of station upgrades and target the ones near problem stations first. So that as we do the uprades, we can close those nearby that are scheduled to be closed.
2022 DM. Z41A is on deck. Need to rent a backhoe to dig the hole for the new vault. All the hardware for SFTN is in-house and ready to go. All other DM is complete.
HOPT2 needs an antenna upgrade at the node receive. So do PENM and PGVM. Eventually all node 900MHz antennas need an upgrade to allow sharing digital bandwidth. Have the antennas and need to install.
We operate 18 cell routers and there are seven remaining upgrades to FirstNet. Only GFM remains. Have the router. Dave and Pat will plan a trip to install along with the work at fgtn.
WYBT and CWPT (replaced by CWPT2) are now closed.
Note, there is still one ISIS2 station: TMAR.
Replacement batteries are in house for DBB nodes at Wilder, MKTA roof.
MPHB continues to hang; it's an old serial to inernet DM24 system. The sensor hasn't been calibrated in three decades and has been in the borehole for nearly two of them. It is not being archived at IRIS and there is no metadata (Mitch has the original Guralp documentation though it is likely no longer accurate). We discussed whether to turn it off. It doesn't cost anything though isn't useful either. It is a nice borehole in a very noisy location so also not particularly useful from a monitoring perspective. It can be obsolesced as time permits.
WALK needs to move, Dave has a new site selected.
STAM needs to move. Landowner is prepping a new site for us.
HOVM has telemetry interference at the Luxora repeater. No good workaround. Convert it to digital. Done, got Centaur, I5/titan upgrade Oct 2022.
Both UALR pipe vaults were full of water. Will replace them with a CERI style surface vault.

QUAR needs a tower.
DBB:
James will seek advice from John Panzer at ITS on our DBB node subnetting scheme.

Money pit service is complete. Quote for additional work was pricey so we'll do that in-house. Done.

MGNC needs more solar and a new antenna. Done, may need even more solar.
Need to test the internet at PARI. Done, works great.
BCRT replaced radio; now back online. Landowner dispute is troublesome and got one of our locks cut even though it was daisy chained with others. Power is now coming from a local radio station with a tower at the top of the mountain. John will put up a flood light in at the circuit box we get power to help defray the cost of the power we use (though the light will probably use more power than the station).
LRVA timing problems. Installed new GPS antenna and it seems to be staying synced now.
RCGA needs to move. John found a City Park in Chattannooga that is a former ammo dump. He's trying to get a permission to do a noise study to relocate the station into one of the bunkers. The city is willing to let us use the park internet. This lead is a bust, looking for a new location.
fgtn needs a solar upgrade. Built up and ready to go. Waiting on a break in the weather.
Replacement station for GTTN and RBNC needs a new plan. A cell modem would provide more options.
Five faulty geobits sent to ISTI. Did we get these back? Yes, John put the
bill on his card.

STAR Node
Star Mt speical use permit with USFS is expiring. Mitch sent in paperwork for the renewal. Will probably cost $147 one approved.
John is working on the special use permit renewal for CCNC.
Got a past due notice for internet at FPAL. We had an agreement for no-cost internet and never received a bill. John will look into it.
DYTN owners are allowing us to stay. They asked for a load of gravel for the access driveway.
The Dalton link is dead and we're currently using a cell modem. The cell modem is doing a very good job but we still would prefer to use it as a backup not primary. Long story short, Dalton thinks their stuff is working and correct but we still can't connect. Discussed options but the Dalton link is still the best option so need to figure it out and make sure what they have configured is the same as what we think they have configured. John reports, "Mr. Watts is going to let me know the next time he is heading up to Starr Mountain so I can meet him there to figure out what is going on with our connection to their network."
John will send the STAR SOH hardware to James to figure out how to send alarms. If this isn't in production soon, we're going to bail and get something off the shelf. The GX620's need to be retired. What is the status of this? It's almost there.
Move PMTN due to excessive noise and vandalism. The new site, CATN, is permitted and ready to install.
HPNC Node
WSCN noise appears to be a local source not telemetry; appears to be a pump-like source. We would like to identify the noise but it is a heavily used repeater site for multiple parties. There may be nothing that can be done. It's a good enough station that we may need to just tolerate it if a source can't be identified and mitigated. If it is a pump could we offer to pay to base isolate it?
MTTN Node
Move the atom to the host's rack and remove our rack.
VHTN seems to eat sensors. There isn't a pattern in needed repairs.
PIGT is down. Can get to the web page but it's not populating due to no data from the receiver. Have a cable analyzer to help troubleshoot.
FCAR T120 has to go back to nanometrics. But the new T120 also has excessive long period drift. Both the datalogger and sensor have been ruled out. Jim will get a cable to swap it out. Could still be an issue with wiring and power. Cables are on backorder.
