The top priority is always repair of down stations.

We weathered the ice storm without significant long-lasting problems. Several staff had no power and some still do not.
The Forest Service plans to begin charging $1400/year/site for sites with that have an 800 series communications use classification. We have about a half dozen sites on FS property and two with recent communications use inventories. They do not routinely ask for them (only STAR and LRVA) and some of our sites have been there several decades. Mitch and John will research the permits. Where possible we need a use classification of 422 (research) not 814 (seismic data)--communications is incidental to our science mission not our primary mission. This might be more difficult at sites with multiple towers (e.g. Starr Mt).
HCAR and PARI are on 3G modems that will quit working 2/22/22.
Be sure to charge expenses for SLU adoptions to 2021 DM.
ISIS5 upgrades are complete. Two loose ends remain: Upgraded TYAR from ISIS2 to ISIS3 and replace the 3G cell router at HCAR with a freewave. CWPT is still operating and is on the abb. Mitch and Holly will decide on an abb replacement (FPST was selected) for it and then CWPT will be decommissioned.
MPHB continues to hang; it's an old serial to inernet DM24 system. The sensor hasn't been calibrated in three decades and has been in the borehole for nearly two of them. It is not being archived at IRIS and there is no metadata (Mitch has the original Guralp documentation though it is likely no longer accurate). We discussed whether to turn it off. It doesn't cost anything though isn't useful either. It is a nice borehole in a very noisy location so also not particularly useful from a monitoring perspective. It can be obsolesced as time permits.
WALK needs to move, Dave has a new site selected.
STAM needs to move. Landowner is prepping a new site for us.
HOVM has telemetry interference at the Luxora repeater. No good workaround. Convert it to digital.
RDGT ISIS3 is down.

Repairs are complete on the money pit to the tune of $3600. We're now capable of operating at 85% which is ample for our purposes. Need to replace the feedline between the tank and generator.

NC is next up for digital conversions. These will all be Geobit/Trammel Links.
RCGA needs to move. John found a City Park in Chattannooga that is a former ammo dump. He's trying to get a permission to do a noise study to relocate the station into one of the bunkers. The city is willing to let us use the park internet.
TRYN needs to move to be upgraded to digital. John found a promising prospect at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute about 50 km to the west. PBO station P779 is also located there. Preliminary results from the noise study show it could be a good station most times but there are periods of several hours now and then that have many transisients in them. We don't know what's causing them. So far TRYN is a much better site seismologically but it's a difficult site to access and maintain with long cable runs. John is going to investigate PARI more and try to improve the installation to see if it can be more quiet.
Replacement station for GTTN and RBNC needs a new plan. A cell modem would provide more options.
Our host at WSNC is having issues with their microwave link which provide us internet.
They are working on the problem.

STAR Node
GRBT and DYTN are Tramell links to single radio at Star Mt. The signal fades causing outages in the morning. It isn't likely to get better. The DYTN path is long but solid. Is long and has obstacles. We can either switch DYTN to a 900M link or GRBT to a cell modem. Mitch approved a cell modem.
The PC is no longer needed at STAR except for SOH. But those weren't working when the crew was there last month for Centaur upgrades.
John will send the STAR SOH hardware to James to figure out how to send alarms.
Move PMTN due to excessive noise and vandalism. The new site, CATN, is permitted and ready to install.
HPNC Node
Convert all HPNC stations to digital using Geobits and Trammel Links.
MTTN Node Move the atom to the host's rack and remove our rack.
Bob has DM funding for new enclosures. He has travel and staff support. The enclosures should arrive this week but we're not likely to be able to get the work done by the end of the month. Bob will ask for a two month extension though we should be able to get it done by the end of March.
MAIR is out. The internet went down and the station did not come back when the internet did. Needs a site visit.
Centaurs are in house. Upgrades for five AG stations will begin after the new year. There is also funding to replace the vault at Z41A. Jim's detailed list of tasks here. Dave and Pat were on another roll and this is done except for the vault at Z41A.
FCAR has a borrowed T120. It also has a telemetry upgrade to do. It is also scheduled for a Centaur upgrade and all three will be completed when the hardware arrives from Nanometrics.
WHAR can be put back on the local network.
Permanent portables are becoming a problem. Stations in place more than 18 months should be installed using permanent station procedures to assure the civil works are capable of long term stability.
