News & Highlights

HazMat inventory is due. Dave volunteered to take over from Chris.

NetOpsX will be March 5-6 at the University of Memphis.

USGS funding is in place for our three approved Deferred Maintenance items.

• AQMS upgrade: replace obsolete AQMS systems with new redundant linux/postgresql developed at PNSN. GOAL: Linux/Postgres in production parallel to Solaris/Oracle by the end of August 2019.
• New transfer switch for NMAD and new resets for each of the NMSZ nodes
• 4 ET analog to digital conversions (6 channel) for GRBT, ETT, CCRT, and GFM. Three will stay shortperiod and add a sm. GFM will convert to broadband. Hardware will be Centaur DAS, Titan sm, and a Trillium PH for GFM. Hardware orders are in process now.

NC is reviewing the GFM agreement

There will be a GPS week rollover (max week count exceeds 1024) in April 2019. Some of our clocks may be affects. Dave Wilson at ASL is taking the lead to contact vendors for information on expected behavior.

Chris announced his retirement for the end of December 2018. Or maybe February, 2019.

XP retirement. We are moving ahead with the Choctaw Short-term Plan. It is important stay on schedule. Phase I replaces the radios at DYTN. Phase II builds a new Raspberry Jam (RJ) prototype and upgrades TVNC2 to digital.

RTCC on Ubuntu 16 is able to get /parameters but fails with /status-control on loopback and RTPD hangs. It works in Ubuntu 18 but openvpn does not. Wait for that fix then leapfrog OS to 18.

There are 1 of 7 ISIS3 upgrades remaining (NHAR).

Make permanent repair receive mast for WYBT at HOPT install four 52 watt panel.

I40 Bridge comms.
Radios are installed and transmitting same limited channels as before to lawworm. Need to reconfigure DAS's to send all channels at 200sps to lawworm and need to reconfigure lawworm to accept them. NSMP will have access to the ringserver on lawworm.

The I40 DAS compact flash (CF) cards are a known point of failure in the Granites (2 of 7 have failed so far). We will purchase and configure 5 more and install at the same time as the radio. HD4 with its new CF will also be installed at that time.

Strongmotion stations NAIT, SEAR, and NHIN are having trouble moving up the priority list. of the three, SEAR is most valuable. NHIN is probably a fuse but can wait until there is a new obisidian to replace the 5TD.

Adjust startup delay in transfer switch settings to give generator time to warm up.

NMAD:

AZTN/HDBR: Need to pull the 200' sensor at the weigh station. Probable water damage. There is no budget for this. Should we try to repair the sensor at MPHB and put it at HDAR2 (MPHB is over two decades old, possibly closer to three)? Should we turn off the HDAR2.*.20 channels until the sensor can be replaced?

CERI:
Server room power is unbalanced. Need to balance when three new AQMS machines are racked.

ETSZ

Replacement station for GTTN and RBNC needs a new plan. A cell modem would provide more options.

Need to remove antennas, coax, and any other hardware from the tower at Greentop. John and Chris will schedule a trip.

ETDown

CPRT has many gaps though the telemetry is solid. This is Phase I of the Choctaw Short-term Plan

STAR Node

BCRT took a lighting hit. Needs new sensors and electrical ground upgrade.

Move PMTN due to excessive noise and vandalism. John has a site and sent a draft MOU to Mitch. The University did not ask for changes and asked for the WMA director to sign first, its currently in Nashville for approval. A portable was installed and shows no surprises, it should a good quiet site.

All GPS sites need PM visit.

There was a miscommunication with the Clifton site and internet access. Bob is looking at alternatives.

New radios are ready for installation at PTGV.

There was an internet "upgrade" at MACC. Need to reconfigure GPS networking configs; James may be able to do it remotely.

AG Network

Z41A has a leaky vault. It will need to be replaced with a CERI style vault.

HHAR needs a bigger solar regulator. The new one should last a year.

We are cautiously optimistic that the LCAR issue may have been resolved with a letter from the PI.
