Tech Staff Meeting Notes December 3, 2013
The top priority is always repair of down stations.
NM problem stations
ET problem stations
Discussed replacing Al (need to clean out his office) and next year's budget.
Discussed AA IT Integration. Send your position questionnaires to Mitch so we can begin the reclassification process.
Discussed the EarthScope CEUSN. Mitch has the original working group report
that set the priorities.
Map of 158 stations planned
for adoption over the next five years.
Map of 65 stations that lie within the
NM and SE authoritative polygons.
We have hardware for two ISIS3 upgrades: ARPT and NWCT.
Mag. 4.0 gain range problems
These should have been or will be taken care of with ISIS3.
GNAR needs better insulating berm.
DBB:
MKTA:
LNXT:
David found replacement exhaust manifolds for the LNXT generator and is getting a quote.
The LNXT generator is leaking slowly. Hope to get it repaired and refilled before the end of the week.
NMAD:
G and D and the local EMA installed a 25kW generator to power that side of the building. If there's room power-wise would they let us power the rack from it too? We could share the maintenance of the generator. We'd also have to install a transfer switch.
AZTN:
Need two more freewaves on top of Autozone to better distribute the I40 feeds.
CERI:
Backup Liebert is physically in place. Waiting on P-plant to finish the install. We'll wire it so that it only comes on when the generator comes on. The should be a switch like the primary Liebert so that it could be manually switched to line. Chris will get with Bob for placement and with P-plant on installation.
Richardson is being replaced. Construction to begin this summer. Richardson will be demolished after the move to the new dorm--possibly sometime near the end of 2014. The current plan is to telemeter both ABB and DBB from SFTN to the WKNO tower on south campus. Initial tests with ubiquiti nanobridges from south campus to CERI were not good. Acquired another pair to test repeating via Zach Curlin garage.
HDBR
HDAR
HDBT
Rack upgrade at Star Mt is scheduled for the week of 12/9.
ASTN will get the last Basalt.
intuicom radios that came with the Basalt and have USGS property tags were used to repair the CPRT to GTTN link (freewaves don't work well there for some unknown reason). Its ok to separate the radios from the DAS so long as we know which radio with which asset number is where (Inventory is done annually).
ISIS4. ETT, GRBT, RCGA of the STAR node and WVTN, WMTN, and LRVA of the MTTN node will get ISIS4 upgrades. Don't have to have the same gain at each station and can instead, turn it up at quiet sites. Once its set, we don't want it to change.

TVNC-sporadic down
We seem to have excessive RT147 problems. Need to follow up with ASL.
GTTN is noisy and would benefit from a quieter site.
GFM needs to be moved to a more quite and accessible site. Possible target for digital upgrade.
STAR Node
Generator is not functional despite EMA's effort to repair. A bigger UPS is under construction. To be installed the week of 12/9.
BHT will be decommissioned.
BRBC Node
RBNC and CCNC need new radio pairs.
MTTN Node
MCTY is down.
Have replacement R9 for PGTX.
FCAR is getting a new roof at the visitor center. We're temporarily on a cell modem until the roof is finished probably in October. The cell modem doesn't have sufficient bandwidth to stream the HN? channels so we only have the HH? in real-time.
One 6TD returned, has flat traces. Two others forwarded to England for repair.
Paragould is down.
The seisnet group on umdrive is at http://umdrive.memphis.edu/mwithers/seisnet You will need your uuid and password.
