Mag. 4.0 gain range problems
These stations had problems with the gain channel during the Magnitude 4 Missouri event on Feb 21, 2012. It isn't clear to me whether they data channels saturated or whether there was excessive chatter in the gain channel. See image.

NODE Tasks

DBB:

MKTA:

LNXT:

LEPT move. The structure and surrounding area will be demolished, leveled, and turned into a field. The station needs to be moved before harvest. Jim did a recon and reports he "scored some good tomatoes from his garden! I've emailed John Leeper the map and pictures. If it works out it will only move 206 meters. It was 845 ft from the pavement after the move it would be 720 ft, hopefully we won't see any additional vehicle noise."

The generator leak is scheduled to be repaired and tank then refilled (~800gal).

NMAD:

G and D and the local EMA installed a 25kW generator to power that side of the building. If there's room power-wise would they let us power the rack from it too? We could share the maintenance of the generator. We'd also have to install a transfer switch.

AZTN:

Need two more freewaves on top of Richardson to better distribute the I40 feeds.

CERI:

P-plant is willing to give us the replaced liebert from the Library. The footprint is about 3 ft on a side and 8 ft tall. We'd wire it so that it only comes on when the generator comes on. The should be a switch like the primary Liebert so that it could be manually switched to line. Chris will get with Bob for placement and with P-plant on installation.

Need a Generator fail alarm in 218/3904. We currently get a pflr alarm when the old rack loses power. There is no way to know if the generator took over other than systems start turning off when the ups dies. Note, that an otmp alarm will follow a pflr alarm unless someone switches the Liebert to generator.

Richardson is being replaced. Construction to begin this summer. Richardson will be demolished after the move to the new dorm--possibly sometime in 2014.

Sporadic down
SMNC
TVNC

There is a TA station, V52A is installed nearby and a radio link should work to the top of the Green Top tower (GTTN). Holly says the data look good. The vault is about a meter diameter but it has a bilge pump. Mitch will contact Katrin Hafner to see if he can go there and check it out. I don't like the idea of a wet vault so if we use this site and can get permission, perhaps it would be best to just let Earthscope decommission it and we just install new?

STAR Node

Generator is not functional despite EMA's effort to repair. Consider additional battery for starworm.

If they get the generator working, a generator on alarm would be useful. Do we have this at other nodes (e.g. Memphis and LNXT)?

BHT move. John will contact Mr. Creasy to see how he's doing with the agreement.

BRBC Node

RBNC and CCNC need new radio pairs.

MTTN Node ASTN: Change to AC power. We have permission and can install anytime.

GPS

MCTY is archiving but not transmitting. Need transient suppression on long external cat5 run.

Portageville needs a new receiver.

AG Network

CCAR, and WLAR still need an annual service.

FDL

One 6TD returned, has flat traces. Two others forwarded to England for repair.

NSMP
