Hi all, I'll be up in Illinois on the 24th, so I can't make the meeting. I'll summarize what's been going on with GPS. Chris and I have started servicing the GPS monuments. CVMS and STLE have been repainted, and radome replacements are underway. I've sent word to our contact at CVMS that we plan to change our wireless setup there. We'll need to run a new Cat-5e cable from our receiver to inside the school. Hopefully, it'll fit in the same conduit as CVTN's cable. Our contact has received the email, but hasn't replied. The school itself doesn't appear to use wireless anything, so there's no problem with interference. MAIR is still offline. There's been no word from the property owner about his plans for the site. After this semester is over, I'm planning a reconn trip to scout the other businesses around the Mississippi County Airport for Internet access. Failing that, we'll likely look into getting the phone turned back on. I'd also like to see if we can possibly get MAIR onto the seismic backbone. Our proposal for a wireless radio link and Internet access has been sent to STLE's schools. Still no word from them. Our proposal to the Maury County Schools for a twelth station at McDowell Elementary in Columbia, TN, is ready, but I have the wrong email address to send it to :p I'll need to check with Chris to make sure I have the correct info. The location of PIGT, the city water plant in Piggott, Arkansas, is getting wireless Ethernet installed. I've spoken with the provider and gotten permission to put our site on it for free (Bob's favorite word). He'll install the WAP, and guys on-site will run the cables. He'll let me know when we're ready to roll. Once Internet's available, I'll install a NetRS and take PIGT down to one-second. CJTR (North Little Rock) needs two visits. The first to check the hardware and get contact info, and the second to see about getting CJTR onto the Internet, also. The site might need its battery replaced. My contact info for Camp Robinson is too old, and their website(s) appear deliberately hard to figure out. We'll need to ask someone on-site and get some new names and numbers. A good number of Guardsmen from Camp Robinson are still deployed overseas and in Louisiana. I'm not expecting rapid results at CJTR. RLAP is still as it was. The new security gate for the airport has been installed, but isn't being used, yet. Work on the terminal building is still at a standstill. I'm still downloading data from on-site. Bob's just going to have to bite the bullet and buy an IP address at RLAP. Savings in long-distance calls to CJTR and PIGT would more than pay from an IP. James
