Notes from the organizing committee's conference call on 2/27/2014.

Members of the organizing committee:
Rayo Bhadha, Caltech
Paul Bodin, PNSN
Victor Huerfano, PRSN
Natasha Ruppert, AEIC
Mitch Withers, CERI

Several possible topical areas were discussed including:
1. AQMS
2. Instrumentation co-location at seismic field sites
3. Products and web-based services
4. Station Meta Data and SIS
5. Virtualization and Cloud-based processing
6. Incorporating cheap and/or novel data and/or unusual processing in Network products
7. Network performance metrics. What and how to measure? How to present?
8. Advances in data acquisition (pushing digitizers for analog stations closer
to the station).

While important to several, it was agreed that AQMS does not have an ANSS wide
audience.

We noted that the list of topics includes both field ops people and central
processing and analysis people. To stay within the budget, we need to select
topics that appeal to one set of participants.

It was agreed that delving more deeply into fewer topics is better than a quick
flyby of more topics.

We decided that items 3, 5, and 7 can be geared toward central processing types
and are somewhat related. Items 3 and 7 are more nuts and bolts for the present
and near term. Item 5 is a discussion of the future and possible improvements
to the other to topics.

We settled on a two day workshop and decided and the first day should start with
item 3 and end with item 7. The second day will focus on item 5. There
will be an optional third day where Caltech people will provide a tutorial on
AQMS and SIS to those who are interested in staying.

The workshop will tentatively be hosted by Caltech in Pasadena and be
June 30-July 1, with July 2 as the optional third day.
