The ANSS will be hosting a NetOpsIII Workshop tentatively scheduled for May 4-5 in Menlo Park, CA. The focus of this workshop will be transitioning operation and maintenance (O&M) of National Strong Motion Program (NSMP) free field stations to regional seismic networks (RSN). This includes those responsible for hardware in the field, those who assure reliable data transfer back at the central processing facility, and everyone in between. Those of you who attended previous NetOps will remember the time as a great opportunity to meet with technical staff from other networks, exchange tips and technical leads, and to build a greater sense of community among ANSS network staff.

The agenda is under development at http://www.ceri.memphis.edu/people/mwithers/NetOpsIII/Agenda.html Please email Mitch Withers if you have improvements to suggest to the agenda or if you would like to participate in leading/coleading the discussion for a particular topic.

By March 27, we would like to have a reasonably firm list of attendees. Please consider one or possibly two staff from your network to attend and assist with NetOpsIII. We anticipate travel support at some level will be available through the USGS.

We'll be adding new information frequently at http://www.ceri.memphis.edu/people/mwithers/NetOpsIII/ so check back often.

Thanks,

The NetOpsIII Organizing Committee.
