When you know what you're looking for, but don't quite know where to find it,
this is the quickest way to find specific information on our server.
Description of Home Page Topics
This section gives a quick overview of each of the major topics available
from the home page, including quick pointers to some of the highlights in
each of those web trees. Many topics naturally
fall into several areas: access to those topics will be available from all
points where it naturally fits.

Included in the graduate education information area is everything students
need to know about the graduate program at CERI and the University of Memphis.
Included are
application information,
graduate program requirements,
(e.g. admission and graduation),
course offerings
(and schedules), and syllabi where available.

Part of the charter establishing CERI requires an
active public awareness program.
CERI promotes understanding of the nature of earthquakes,
earthquake preparedness, and potential hazard mitigation through active
community involvement in a variety of ways: talks, tours,
emergency preparedness drills, and educational outreach programs. Included
in this ever-evolving section are informational material about earthquakes
including
facts,
myths,
and solid information you can use in helping better prepare for an earthquake.

Included in the Seismic Information section is information on a variety
of topics relating to seismic networks. Included are access to a variety of
data in
event list (text file),
searchable catalog
and map form for local and world-wide events, as well as other geological and
geophysical research (e.g. GPS surveying, fault trenching) happening in
the New Madrid Seismic Zone. The current state and evolution of the
seismic network is also available. Future plans include a history of the
seismic networks operated by CERI since 1981 and full access to a variety of
seismic data in conjunction with other geophysical institutions and data
centers around the world.

CERI is an active research center in Geophysical and Geological Sciences.
A preliminary
catalog of all CERI publications
is maintained online, as well as abstracts presented at professional meetings. New features are being added to this section regularly.

The U.S.G.S pages contain information about the U.S. Geological Survey
Office at CERI. Included are the mission of the U.S.G.S. in the New
Madrid region, ongoing U.S.G.S sponsored research in the area, as well as
